An international group of award-winning photographers decided to unite and create a series of powerful photographs to help bring an end to the illegal wildlife trade. The name of the project is ‘Photographers against wildlife crime’.
Wildlife crime ranks alongside other world’s top criminal activities like drugs, arms, and human trafficking, and the group of photographers aims to inform as many people as possible about the problem. People are unaware of how big of a problem it actually is, and one of the photographers, Brent Stirton, says that most of the world doesn’t even know what’s going on with its own planet.
The group has three main goals during the project: the first one was to put the photographs into a book, and they released it in May 2018. The second goal is to release the book in Mandarin for the distribution in China, and the third goal is to raise funds for charities whose mission is to end the illegal wildlife trade by selling these books.
