Two French doctors sparked outrage around the country and the world after they suggested to carry out experiment vaccines for COVID-19 in Africa. They did this on live TV.
Dr. Jean-Paul Mira said during an interview on local TV channel LCI that “we should do this study in Africa, where there are no masks, no treatments, and no reanimation”.
He added that a little bit so is done in some AIDS/HIV studies, where they use escort workers to test some things because they know they’re highly exposed anyway.
The other doctor, Dr. Camille Locht, also joined the conversation and said that Dr. Mira is right, and they’re thinking of parallel study in Africa to use this same kind of approach with the BCG vaccine.
He added that they should seriously think about it.
So, what they’re suggesting is that they should do testing for vaccines of this virus that claimed thousands of lives across the globe, despite drastic measures being put on more than half of the planet, in some of the poorest parts of the world.
There have been more than 1 million confirmed cases in the world (at the time of writing), and the pandemic has put enormous strain on national health care systems and on nurses, doctors, and other medical staff working on the front lines.
