22 Percent Of Men Don’t Change Their Underwear Daily

In a recent study conducted by OnBuy, a whopping 22 percent of men have admitted that they don’t change their underwear every day. In comparison, 18 percent of women confessed that they don’t change their underwear daily.

In fact, one in 20 men even admitted that they re-wear their undies more than five times before washing them.

The study surveyed 2,790 men and women, intending to examine people’s hygiene habits. The results are stunning.

What shocked me the most is that of those who admitted that they don’t change their underwear every day, 76 percent of men and 69 percent of women said that turn their undies inside out to have a ‘cleaner feel’.

Additionally, 13 percent of men have the same pair of underwear for more than three years to ‘try and get their money’s worth’. In comparison, 40 percent of men and 55 percent of women replace their undies yearly.

Doctors recommend that the majority of items in your wardrobe should be washed after each wear, especially if exercise.

Skincare specialist at Natura Emporium, Dr. Nichola Cosgrove, explained that underwear acts as a barrier to protect our clothes, and it’s easier to wash our underwear regularly than our clothes.
If you don’t change your underwear daily, bacteria like Escherichia coli, staphylococcus, streptococcus, and many others will accumulate and they will start to multiply out of control. The effects can be infections that can put you in a lot of trouble.
