Amy Schumer Asked For Her Son’s Forgiveness For Accidentally Giving Him An “Explicit” Name

Popular comedian and actress Amy Schumer has been making headlines for the hilarious mistake she made with her baby’s name ever since she gave birth last year. As it turns out, she only realized that his name sounds very rude after she named him ‘Gene Attell‘. Go on, just read it out loud.
See what she’s talking about?

Schumer now made a very public apology to her son for the accident and referred to the name incident as “the first of the many failures”.

In a virtual interview with TODAY, the ‘I Feel Pretty’ star and her husband Chris Fischer discussed the “name situation” and formally apologized to the 1-year-old Gene for giving him an inappropriate moniker name.

The adorable baby boy was sitting in their lap as they discussed things with hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, and the parents said that they “fixed it”.

The comedian announced in an episode of her podcast last month that Gene’s middle name has officially been changed, and it’s now Gene David Fischer instead of Gene Attell Fischer.

The proud parents were happy to share some of Gene’s new milestones.

“He’s clapping. He can walk around. Yeah, yesterday he was collecting pinecones and I’ll say it, he was hoarding them. He was hoarding pinecones. And, him and our dog…they’ve become really good friends. So, they wrestle over stuffed animals and stuff.” – Amy said.
