A U.K. singer named Jamelia Davis was traveling on a train alongside her 11-year-old daughter when she had an awkward encounter with a stranger that serves as a reminder that ignorance is still alive.

The singer detailed the story later on her website but was surprised at how many people were shocked by the incident. According to her, this was not an isolated incident. As most of her travel is in first class, she says that she experiences similar exchanges with employees or fellow passengers regularly.
