Artist “Gives” Disney Characters “Real Bodies” To See How They Would Look In Real Life

Over the years, especially when growing up Disney gave us a variety of characters and many of them touched our hearts. It was so easy to relate to many of them, as we were all charmed by their charisma, boldness, sense of humor, bravery and so on…

Now, when I think about it, many of them look very similar on the outside, regardless of their character.   For example, according to some studies the median waist-to-hip ratio of Disney characters was a ridiculously low 0.535. You don’t need us to tell you that such figure is almost impossible to be achieved naturally.

Thanks to Wyethe Smallish now we can all see how they would look like given more realistic bodies. “I have my own body image issues that I work on, and a major way that I do that is through my art,” Wyethe told Bored Panda. “So as a therapeutic exercise I wanted to alter some characters I really loved growing up.”

After viewing her work we must admit that it was refreshing to see a new more realistic take on our beloved Disney characters.

At the end of the day I hope that none of us grew up after watching these thinking a man needed to save us.

We must remember that we are all confident and independent women. From mechanic, electrician, firefighters, and management in good fields, we all seem pretty fine.

To be honest I wasn’t a Disney Princess fan. Back then when I was growing up, it seemed to me that most of them wanted a prince to save them. I liked Mulan. She didn’t need a man.
