Uğur Gallenkuş is a photographer from Istanbul, Turkey, and he’s trying to show the important issues in our world by putting two photos side-by-side in a single frame.
He wants to demonstrate the contrast between the two different worlds we live in by doing this.
He believes we don’t know anything about war, and other important issues, and he was inspired to create his series of photos when he started to see the fear and despair in the eyes of refugee children trying to get to Europe.
Even though we may live in peace today, we may be eventually exposed to these problems, which are very real for a large part of the world.
The photographer wanted to show the difference between developed and underdeveloped countries, and he wants to send messages to both developed and underdeveloped countries with his photos. He wants people in developed countries to know how the other part of the world lives, and he wants people in underdeveloped countries to know that they can elect better governments, focus on their education, and become as strong and peaceful as developed countries.
