Even though there’s still a stigma surrounding the topic of mental health and mental illness, it seems that it has been put on the forefront lately. With more individuals feeling comfortable to share their own diagnoses and disorders, it certainly helps to normalize the notion that a majority of the human population suffers from or has suffered from in the past.
However, even though there are more and more people who feel comfortable to discuss on that topic, there are still those who are forced into a confined box of shame and ridicule. The reason for that is the constant stigma around those who deal with these kinds of psychiatric disorders, and author Blair Imani decided to bring up an important aspect of dealing with these stigmas and disorders in her eye-opening Twitter thread. It went viral on the social media, and we truly believe that everyone should see it!
Many people related to her words, and they were incredibly grateful for her transparency and honesty.
