Nicky Campbell faces a major backlash on the internet after he decided to criticize his daughter for having an untidy room.
The BBC host shared a photo of his 18-year-old daughter Lilla’s messy room on Twitter, and he wrote that he’s “sick of it”.
However, his rant hasn’t gone down well, and some people even accused him of publicly shaming her.
Lilla’s bedroom floor is flooded with clothes, handbags, makeup, and cuddly toys.
Nicky wrote in the post that this is completely unacceptable, as she’s almost 19 years old and he’s sick of it.
Many people criticized his post, saying that he was unfair with his teenage daughter and he embarrassed her in front of his 141,000 followers.
Even Labour MP Helen Goodman tweeted that this was a very, very unfair use of power imbalance, and most inappropriate.
Nicky, however, who is also the dad of 21-year-old Breagha, 16-year-old Kirsty, and 14-year-old Isla defended the post by saying that his daughter was in on the joke, and she even helped with the photo and thinks it’s hilarious.
It was apparently a joke because “all teenagers have bedrooms like this”.
