We all know how body acceptance is very important, but is it possible to shame someone’s body for “not suffering enough”?
Yes, you read that right.
As more and more people are getting on board with supporting others who are comfortable in their own skin, love their bodies, and acknowledge that everyone is beautiful, there are many people who take part in body acceptance groups.
However, a question that appeared on Reddit about one such group sparked an interesting debate.
An anonymous Reddit user asked fellow Redditors on the AITA subreddit if she was in the wrong for kicking a girl out of her body acceptance group.
This is a tricky situation because this wasn’t just a standard body acceptance group, but it was made for a specific group of people.
Crashing support groups when you don’t have the same problems is kind of disrespectful, and we are on the NTA side: we don’t think that OP was in the wrong here.
Check out what fellow Redditors had to say about the situation, and feel free to tell us what’s your opinion on this one in the comments.
