We’ve all heard the expression ‘Use your head!’ when we have to think of something clever in order to make our life just a tiny bit easier. Well, a cafe in Germany has its customers using their heads – quite literally – in order to ensure social distancing rules while they enjoy a cup of coffee.
Visitors of Cafe & Konditorei Rothe in the German city of Schwerin have been ‘required’ to wear pool noodles as hats crossed over each other and taped in place at the top in order to keep things ‘corona free’.
The inventive rule was introduced by cafe staff in order to make sure that the customers were not ‘flouting social distancing rules’. The hilarious photos were shared on the cafe’s Facebook page, where thousands of people engaged with it.
Germany has started ‘easying’ itself out of lockdown, but social distancing measures are still in place, so this comes as an absolutely brilliant idea.
One woman from Spain commented that her husband had a similar idea, that everyone should wear a wide sombrero.
Some people, though, were concerned whether the cafe reuses the hats, and they hoped that at least they cleaned them in between sittings.
Cafes and restaurants have started reopening in Germany, and the country is slowly easying itself out of lockdown after chancellor Angela Merkel announced last week that all shops are now allowed to reopen, and students will begin returning to school.
