Even though not all religions are against LGBT people, a huge number of so-called “religious people” still live by their anti-gay interpretations of their text of choice.
However, having a devotion to that religious text while still living in a world full of diverse people you love can easily create some clear contradictions.
For example, if you love your sister, and she happens to be a lesbian than the logical thing to do was support her relationship and stand up for her rights.
However, there are people who firmly believe that the Bible strictly prohibits and even discourages LGBTQ relationships (which is not the case, btw), and a recent post on the AITA subreddit was written by an OP with a similar opinion.
The thing is that he wondered if he’s in the wrong for not wanting his daughters to be in his sister’s “gay wedding”.
