One Canadian couple has been fined after the woman tried to walk her husband on a lead in an attempt to bypass the coronavirus curfew.
Quebec imposed a 8pm to 5am curfew in an attempt to lower the ‘critical and grave’ numvers of new Covid-19 cases. The curfew came into effect on Saturday, the January 9, but the police spotted the couple out at 9pm on Sunday. Apparently, the woman was walking her husband on a leash in attempt to bypass the curfew.
Is this real life. Woman issued a fine in Sherbrooke, Québec, for walking *her boyfriend* on a leash after curfew. (there’s an exemption to curfew for those walking their dogs). https://t.co/UE4eYDyZZP

The couple told the police that they were following the rules outlined by Premier Legault which say that people are allowed to walk their dogs within one kilometer of their home after 8pm.
However, declaring that your husband is a dog and putting him on a leash didn’t go well with the police. The police gave both partners $1,500 CAD fine.
According to Sherbrooke Police, the couple did not collaborate with the police at all, and statements of violation of the municipal by-law were given to them.
