Passing on an heirloom is an important gesture for many people, especially if it’s some special symbol of continuity in the family.
What’s more, it shows that you’ve been remembered by an heirloom, and you were chosen to pick up some invaluable possession that has been passed from generation to generation.
Well, one 20-year-old woman recently decided to share the story about how she didn’t receive the precious heirloom pocket-watch that was handed from generation to generation for her birthday. After she realized she’s not getting the gift, she stormed out of her birthday party, so she decided to ask the court of Reddit if she did right. Check out the story below, and decide for yourself.
Most of Reddit voted that the 20-year-old is not in the wrong here, and she’s not the a-hole to be angry for not receiving the heirloom – especially after her father told her that he chose to give it to her brother because he’s a boy, and the watch will stay in the family.
