Actor Elliot Page, who recently came out as trans, decided to talk about his personal journey in a viral interview. The 34-year-old Juno actor came out as trans in December 2020 in a lengthy message to his fans. He shared that his pronouns are he/they, and his name is Elliot.
More than two months after publicly coming out, Elliot had an interview with Time and made it to the cover of the issue – making him the first-ever trans man to be featured on Time’s cover.
In addition to his interview, he wrote a viral tweet in which he thanked everyone that came before him, supporting him, and he expressed his great concern for the generation of trans youth that we must all protect. He invited people to join him and decry anti-trans legislation, hate, and discrimination in all its forms.
President Joe Biden recently lifted the ban on trans people in the military, and we regularly see trans people in major roles in Hollywood movies. Thankfully, Elliot’s agent confirmed that the actor has been contacted by numerous casting directors, saying that they would love to see him in their future products.
As the actor is currently working on the next season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, many people expressed their support and love for him on social media.
