According to a 2016 survey, there are more trans or non-gender conforming teens in the US than we previously thought.
Although government data estimated that around 0.6% of teens in the US identify themselves as trans, the findings of the study suggest otherwise.
Many organizations are doing their best to fight for acceptance of the trans community in the US, but things are not looking great in the real world just yet. One dad recently took it to Reddit’s popular Am I The A-Hole sub to ask if he was in the wrong for telling his wife that she needs to get over herself and support their trans son. The story touched the hearts of many, and you can check it out for yourself below.
People unanimously wrote that he’s most definitely not the a-hole here, and the only a-hole in the situation is his wife.
Identifying your gender, realizing that you’re gay, and coming out are some of the most challenging experiences a human being can go through – both mentally and physically. The most important help these people can receive is from their closest family, so that’s why we salute this dad!
