People usually despise things in life that have caused them pain and suffering, and it’s perfectly normal.
Tiffany Yonts received the Tetanus and Diphtheria (Td) vaccine when she was 14 years old, and she thought that everything will go routinely. However, what happened to her was nothing even remotely close to the “routine”, and she nearly lost her life because of the vaccine. She developed Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) because of it, and it’s a rare autoimmune disorder in which a person’s own immune system makes an inflammatory response and damages the peripheral nerves.
It usually affects the motor, sensory, or autonomic nerves, and the people who have it often experience sensory disturbances in their arms, hands, legs, or feet, loss of reflexes and muscle weakness. It can even lead to paralysis in some cases, and Tiffany finally decided to share her story, 14 years after she received her vaccine. Her goal is to send a message to all the anti-vaxxers, but not to tell them that they’re right, but to shut them down completely, even when her life was ruined by a vaccine.
This is the Twitter thread she wrote, and prepare yourself for one of the most heartfelt and selfless things you will read:
