The Westboro Baptist Church is a family-based cult out of Kansas who drives from town to town and visits schools, state capitals, and events to spread their never-ending hate-speech. They especially hate gay people, but they also hate non-Americans, and Muslim people.
They fill their coffers by suing counter-protesters for attempting to block their constitutional right to free speech along the way.
The cult was about to have a demonstration at the Virginia state Capitol in Richmond on March 11, and it was against Democratic Delegate Danica Roem. However, they soon realized that they were messing with the wrong person.
Roem is the first and only transgender lawmaker of the state and the vocalist of a trash-metal band. Oh, and she is also a friend of Randy Blythe, the frontman of a very popular metal band Lamb of God.
Blythe organized a counter-party when he heard that the Westboro Baptist Church was coming to town, and he promised that he will bring 100 kazoos and $100 award for the best costume.
He wrote on Instagram that they will play the “Benny Hill” and “Sanford and Sons” theme songs, and they will drown them out with cheap buzzing plastic noise makers.
Hundreds of people came to the “counter-party”, and there were just 6 Westboro demonstrators. The metalheads formed drum circles, they blew their kazoos and chanted. The Westboro cult left the demonstration after only 30 minutes.
