Ever since New York’s Reproductive Health Act was passed a few weeks ago, the debate around abortion rights has been raging more than usual.
Women are allowed to get the procedure up until gestation in cases where their health is endangered with the new law, and abortion is effectively decriminalized. Unfortunately, there has been a backlash against this law, and many people are actually claiming that women are willingly terminating pregnancies at eight months.
Even when many gynecologists and women who have had abortions themselves have debunked the “late-term abortion” myth, there are still people who blame women for it.
Megan LeBlanc is a woman that recently shared exactly why shaming women are so deeply toxic in her Twitter thread, and even though she hasn’t personally had an abortion, one of her recent birth experiences mirrored the trauma and loss women have experienced with the procedure. Check out her Twitter thread below:
Many people thanked LeBlanc for opening up about her loss, and her story truly shines a light on the realities that many women have faced and even been judged for.
