Is The Pill Safe? Women Share Horror Stories From Using Contraceptive Pills

The contraceptive pill was first approved by the FDA in the 1960s in the us. However, at the time of its approval, it was still illegal in eight US states, and people had different opinions of it.

However, it soon became the most popular form of birth control in the US, and more than 6.5 million of women were taking it by 1970!

CDC reports that more than 14 percent of US women aged from 15 to 49 are on the pill today, but the side effects are often overlooked.

What side effects, I hear you ask? Well, let Georgia Shaw explain something to you.
Shaw is a 20-year-old student who recently took it to Twitter to put the spotlight on all the potential side effects and risks associated with the pill. In her viral tweet, she shared all the side effects that were listed at the giant leaflet she received in the Rigevidon pill box (a familiar box for many of us)!

Check out the tweet for yourself below:

The Twitter thread received a lot of attention, and thousands of women found it very relatable. Hundreds of them shared their own negative experiences with the pill, and we invite you to share your thoughts of it in the comment section (if you want to, of course).
