Jennifer Lopez and Shakira both posted a photo of them standing side-by-side on social media to announce that they’re going to bring the heat up to the 2020 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show!
Lopez wrote that they’re going to see the world on fire.
Shakira wrote that it doesn’t get any bigger than this, and she’s so excited about getting on that Super Bowl halftime stage.
The singers will perform together on February 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The NFL’s 100th-anniversary halftime show will air live on Fox and is co-produced by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company.
If J-Lo and Shakira remain the only performers for next years show, it will mark the first time two women have co-headlined a Superbowl show without another male act.
Shakira said in a press release that she’s honored to be taking on one of the world’s biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist, and represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world. And, to top it off, the event happens to fall on Shakira’s 43rd birthday.
“This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime!” – she noted.
J-Lo said that she can’t wait to show what girl can do on the world’s biggest stage, and she added that she has always dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl ever since she saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show.
