The famous luxury jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. has stepped up their game towards inclusivity and they are now selling men’s engagement rings.
This is the first time the company introduces men’s engagement rings in its 184-year history.
The designs of the rings depict a significant departure from the average American jeweler, known for the classic engagement rings for women. The news comes after it has been reported that there’s a growing demand for fine jewelry for male shoppers.
The men’s engagement rings are available at Tiffany’s flagship store in New York, and the range is named the Charles Tiffany Setting, after the company’s founder Charles Lewis Tiffany.
The rings come in either a titanium or platinum setting and the design has been inspired by classic signets.
There’s a wide choice of rings, and the thickest one comes with a sparkling diamond up to five carats in size in the center.
According to the company’s press release with the introduction of the new line, they said that they ‘honor the jeweler’s long-standing legacy in love and inclusivity, paving the way for new traditions’.
Gay marriage has now been officially recognized in almost 30 countries, and numerous jewelry companies have begun offering gender-neutral engagement rings. Notably, some jewelers even offer lines specifically aimed at LGBTQ+ couples.
