Chris Salvatore is a 31-year-old actor who decided to move in across the hall from the 89-year-old Norma Cook and her cat a few years ago.
The nighbors had always said ‘hello’ to each other, so they eventually became friends.
However, as Norma grew old and needed help, Chris invited her to move in with him so he could help her in her last days.

When Norma turned 89, the doctors said that she needed constant care, but none of her children or family were nearby, so she couldn’t rely on relatives.
Thankfully, Chris was on her side. He eventually set up a GoFundMe page to help her cover her medical costs, and he thought that he needed to something more for his friend and beloved neighbor.
Chris invited Norma and her cat Hermes to move in with him, and they became inseparable.
This is what Chris said when he invited Norma:
“I’m so happy I was able to give her this gift of living her last days at home. I can’t imagine what it’s like to go through the end of your life at a hospital without your friends or pets.”
Unfortunately, she passed away in 2017, and Chris wrote a heartbreaking post about his beloved neighbor:
“It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news that earlier this morning the world lost a truly inspiring, beautiful woman. Norma is now resting peacefully in the eternal and while she may no longer physically be with us, her spirit will continue to fill the hearts of so many people…
May you rest in peace my sweet sweet lady, Norma. ❤️“
