We live in a time when some men seem to be losing their calm over the fact that women have a tiny bit more power than they used to. One of those men is Bill Leasure, a guy that works at the Department of Defense. He recently tweeted out a challenge to his fellow men, with the best intentions, of course:
Expectedly, it didn’t go well for him.
Like, he could have just said his mom. Or his wife. Or his sister.
I mean, it shouldn’t really be a struggle.
However, when Bill elaborated a bit, it turns out that he was actually trying to make a very good point:
It’s the unconscious bias that keeps many oppressions like sexism, racism, and hate on gay people still present in society.
Most of us assume that just because we don’t openly hate on someone we’re the “good guys”, but many of us treat other people badly without even realizing it.
