Men Are Boycotting Gillette After Their New Ad By Throwing Away Their Products

Gillette, one of the most famous brands for men’s shaving products, caused controversy recently when they released their new ad. The ad was “controversial” because it addressed the #MeToo movement, and toxic masculinity. It used the same catchphrase that the company has been using for decades, “The best a man can get”, but only with a slight change. The company now asked their customers “Is this the best a man can get?”, and the new commercial addresses numerous social problems, rather than promoting their razors.

The video features the likes of Idris Elba and other men, and it was released on YouTube on Sunday. However, it already has more than 780k dislikes and only 383k likes, which comes as a surprise. Most people are actually denouncing the products of the company and say that they will never use them again. What is also surprising is that many women are saying that the company used feminism as a marketing strategy, and they have gone too far.

The commercial went already viral, and it caused a massive uproar on social media. Many people took it to Twitter to express their thoughts and opinions about it, and it’s safe to say they didn’t take it well.

And of course, Piers Morgan had to express his controversial opinion, as always:

There were people who actually opposed the bashing and boycotting Gillette had received, and wrote that the people who are offended by the ad are part of the problem. What’s your opinion on this one? Tell us in the comments!

And this is what people answered on Reddit when someone asked “Why are people mad about the Gillette ad?”

Wow, there a lot of insecure men out there! How many of them drive around in noisy jacked-up pickup trucks with confederate flags flying?

I think the meaning behind the response went right over your head, Frank.
