Ex-First Lady Michelle Obama is on a mission to encourage kids to eat healthier, and her initiative is getting a global spin with a few allies. Obama is finally launching a kids’ cooking show on Netflix, and it comes as a part of the production deal between Netflix and the production company she founded with former president Barack Obama.
The show, named ‘Waffles + Mochi’, will premiere on March 16 and she’ll play the proprietor of a ‘whimsical supermarket’ that employs titular puppets. The puppets are all best friends and aspiring chefs!
This is what she wrote in a tweet she recently posted:
“I’m excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook, and eat delicious food from all over the world,”

The 10-episode Netflix series has been described as ‘the culinary adventure of a lifetime’, and the characters will hop aboard a magical shopping cart to seek out ingredients all over the world.
This is how Netflix describes the show:
“Whether they’re picking potatoes in the Andes of Peru, sampling spices in Italy, or making miso in Japan, these curious explorers uncover the wonder of food and discover every meal is a chance to make new friends,”
Expectedly, there will be a lot of opportunities for cameos of A-list celebrities, such as renowned chefs, home cooks, kids, and other celebs.
