Arnon Rodthong is a 58-year-old multi-millionaire from Thailand who owns a durian fruit farm in Chumphon, Thailand. He recently offered A LOT OF money and his entire estate to the one who will marry his 26-year-old daughter. The requirements are quite simple: the man only needs to “work hard and make her happy”.
Karnsita, his 26-year-old daughter helps Rodthong run his business, and he has now decided to take her future into his own hands. He promised 10 million Thai Baht (around $300,000) to the man who will marry her, and he will also gift his future son-in-law his durian farm, which is the biggest one in the area and is valued at several million of US dollars.
While in most Thai areas men are “required” to pay a dowry for their future wives, Rodthong said that he will waive this tradition when the deal is made.
He said that he wants someone to take care of his business and make it last, and he doesn’t want a person with a bachelor’s, master’s, or philosopher’s degree. He just wants a “diligent man”, someone who is with a hard-working attitude.
Even though Rodthong has several sons, he said that he wanted to give everything to Karnsita’s husband.
She speaks English and Chinese fluently, and she has never had a boyfriend. She also confirmed that she is still single, and she has been overwhelmed by all the attention from her dad’s public offer.
Karnsita, however, said that her future husband might have to work a lot to get her father’s money and that she wanted to use it herself to get “plastic surgery in Korea”.
She is not mad at her father for his move, though, even though she admitted that she was a bit “surprised” when she found out what he’s done. She also noted that she heard it from her friends rather than straight from him.
However, even after her father’s plan surprised her, she said that she could see the funny side to it too. She also noted that if she does get married, she wants the other person to be a good person who loves his family.
