Lynne Price is a 55-year-old laundry worker from New Tredegar, South Wales, who discovered that she had won £1m (around $1.3 million) just 10 minutes after she was told that she had beaten cancer.
Lynne had just opened a letter that said that her scan results were clear, and just a few moments later her husband David rushed home from work to inform her that they had won £1m.
The mom-of-three said that she was in total shock when she discovered the news.
She added that she was shaking and she was totally lost for words, which usually never happens to her. She then just went in and had a bath for two hours, where she just laid there trying to take it all in.
David, her husband, checked his ticket at work and found out that his wife had won £1 million on the Euromillions Millionaire Maker.
He said that he went home to tell her, but she had even bigger news for him of her own – as the letter saying she has it all-clear is worth more than a million to him.
Lynne was diagnosed with cancer back in 2015, and after having treatment, she finally underwent a scan in October and she has been given the all-clear. The couple is now planning to “escape the country” next month and go on a vacation, as they will also be celebrating their 33rd wedding anniversary there. The couple revealed that this was actually the third Lotto win for their family, and they noted that they are distantly related to the couple who won £71million on the EuroMillions in March.
