Jemma Freeman is a mom from Maldon, Essex, UK, who purchased a wrist locks gadget and makes her children wear it when out in order to protect them from getting taken away.
The 30-year-old mom decided to buy the gadget amid rising concerns about such cases in her area. She bought the locks from Amazon for $10 and makes her two children aged 3 and 8 to wear them when they go out with her.
The locking device is a wrist strap with an additional lock and coil, and it’s child-proof, meaning that the child can’t wriggle out of the grasp.
The mom told her two children about strangers taking children away and she explained the reasons why she makes her children wear the lock. Both of them are now happy to put it on, and she shared a photo of the device on her Facebook page.
I wanted to share this with you. I've been feeling extremely anxious with all the child snatching incidents going on in…
Jenna was praised by many fellow parents for ensuring her children’s safety. However, not everyone was so supportive, and some wrote that it’s like putting a dog on a leash. The mom of two defended using the tool and said that she started using them only recently after being concerned with recent events – and at least she’s calm knowing her kids are safe.
