Mom Shares Valuable Lesson From Her 19-Year-Old Daughter About Accepting Low-Paid Jobs

The r/antiwork Reddit community is growing, and with that, many people are realizing that their employers are mistreating them in one way or another.

Namely, Redditor u/soil_witch recently shared an inspiring lesson she learned from her 19-year-old daughter. The mom explained how her daughter turned down a job offer to work at her favourite store because they wouldn’t pay her a decent wage – even though she really wanted to work there.

The mom admitted that she would have never had the confidence to do such thing, but the teenager declined the $9/hr at a second interview, telling them that she couldn’t feed herself with that.

Many people were inspired by the story and shared their own thoughts on the matter. But what do you think? Have you ever turned down a job offer, and if yes, what was the reason? Did you tell the employer the truth?

Feel free to discuss it in the comment section.
