Moms Should Take Breaks Know As “Mom-Cations”, Psychologists Suggest

Mothers are some of the most hard-working people in the world, and it’s universally known.

Most mothers work 24 hours a day, every day, and the job, naturally, comes with a huge amount of emotional and financial stress.

A recent trend that has become popular on social media is called “mom-cation”, and it’s a brief vacation where moms travel together without their families.

And even though we believe that the “mom-cation” can be a very fun trip for us, mothers, psychologists even suggest that moms traveling on their own can improve their family relationships in the long run.
Taking mom-cations can also be very beneficial for their own well-being.

According to experts, taking mom-cations can be useful for the other members of the family as well.
Dr. Nava Silton is a psychology professor that says it’s very important for kids to see that balance that ideally needs to be achieved in any family situation.

A mom can very often feel as if she’s the only person that keeps the house in order and the kids on a schedule, so taking a trip away from that can be very helpful.

The mom can devise a care plan for the spouse, members of the family, friends, or anyone that will be taking care of the children before taking the trip.

The mom will feel well rested and refreshed once she returns home from her mom-cation.
For example, one mother says that she came back and she was a better mom, a more patient mom. She adds that one learns to appreciate what one has at home because you finally got that break from it all.

Taking as little as a weekend from your regular mom life can greatly improve your mental, physical, and emotional health.
