Former First Lady Michelle Obama shared a photo of her family and their very own Thanksgiving celebration on Wednesday. The photo featured her husband, former President Barak Obama, and their two daughters, Malia and Sasha.
Michelle simply stated, “From our family to yours, #HappyThanksgiving”.
The family photo is a rare one featuring the whole family, considering their diverging lives and a step back from their political spotlight.
The Obamas have had their hands full ever since they left the White House in 2017. Their daughters are now both in college, and Michelle noted that she and her husband celebrated their wedding anniversary last month.
Michelle released her memoir named ‘Becoming’ last year, and it became a best-seller with more than 10 million copies sold. She noted that she spent much of this year on a book tour, which even landed her a Grammy nomination for best-spoken word album category.
Neither Michelle nor Barack Obama have publicly endorsed a particular candidate as of now, and they haven’t even given any hints about their preferences ahead of next year’s elections.
Michelle is set up for a trip i Vietnam alongside the daughter of former President George W. Bush, Jenna Bush Hager. The two will travel through the Obama Foundation’s Girls Opportunity Alliance and will interact with young girls and share their stories in partnership with Today and YouTube Originals.
The movement has a goal to inspire and motivate girls with lessons of self-empowerment, and Michelle said on Today that the future of our world is only as bright as our girls.
