An online survey that was conducted in the UK by JL Partners asked voters which of Britain’s previous prime ministers they wished was still around and they believe would have sorted the 2020 crises better. Only Prime Ministers from 1976 were put in the equation, and it turns out that more than 15 percent of young voters aged 18 to 24 believe that Margaret Thatcher would be the best former British Prime Minister.
32 percent of people overall favored the Iron Lady, and former PM Tony Blair came in second with 11 percent of the vote. What surprised many was that even though people aged from 18 to 24 weren’t even born during Thatcher’s divisive years in power, they still voted her as their top choice to sort out the current issues such as the coronavirus pandemic and Brexit.
Another surprising result was that 35 percent of people of the polled Northerners also chose Thatcher, and 22 percent of Scottish people also wished she could have a say in this situation.
Baroness Margaret Thatcher served as the British Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990 and she was the first female British PM. She’s also the longest-serving PM.
