People Are Cleaning Up The Planet With The New #Trashtag Challenge

The most recent challenge that went extremely popular on the internet is something truly inspirational. It’s not some funny memes, or iconic moments, or even trolling someone who said something, but it’s actually about saving our home planet!

Millions of tons of garbage end up in the ocean, and, believe it or not, 1.3 BILLION tonnes of household waste are generated per year by us, humans. Maybe you’ve noticed it already, maybe you haven’t, but we have a huge trash problem, and the new hashtag #trashtag is exactly about that. It encourages people to chip in themselves and help with solving this problem. People are taking photos of an area that desperately needs cleaning up, and then they share a photo of the beautiful area – cleaned up by themselves.

It all started when a Reddit user noticed a post of someone who had completed the challenge and wrote that this is a new #challenge for all the bored teens. It immediately went off on social media, and people are now constantly sharing their before-and-after photos. We are truly inspired by this challenge, and we’ve made a collection of some of the best photos from this hashtag. Also, feel free to do the challenge yourself, and post your photos in the comments, or join our Women Rights News group and share them there!
