The 38-year-old daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, took it to Instagram yesterday to share a black-and-white throwback photo of herself while pregnant with her now four-year-old son Theodore with the hashtag #challengeaccepted that supports the notion that all women should be kind to each other. However, she’s now facing fierce backlash, and her post has been dubbed “meaningless” and “vapid” by critics.

#ChallengeAccepted. Gratitude for the sisterhood – the women who have held me up and pushed me forward! ❤️ Each day brings countless opportunities, large and small, to spread light and uplift those around us. Let’s be kind to each other. Let’s choose to love, support and strengthen one another. We are ALL mothers — we each bring something unique and beautiful into this world. Let’s ❤️each other. I challenge all of my followers to lead with love. You create the future as you live. #womensupportingwomen
The photo was taken 4 years ago, during Ivanka Trump’s cover photoshoot for the Town & Country magazine. Although the original image was not black and white, she edited it before posting it online. She’s one of the millions of women that posted stunning black-and-white photos of themselves using the hashtags #ChallengeAccepted and #WomenSupportingWomen to spread the message of female empowerment.
Many people, however, found Ivanka’s post problematic, and for a number of reasons.
As you probably know already, Ivanka Trump has been a part of her father’s administration that has been criticized for its anti-women agenda, and critics wrote that if she really supported women, she would be outraged by her father and all his administration.
