Popular singer Pink has revealed that she and her three-year-old son Jameson have both tested positive for COVID-19.
Pink took it to Instagram to share of what she and her son have been enduring, and she wrote a lengthy Instagram caption about her symptoms and the diagnosis. However, she took her time to slam the U.S. government for the lack of tests and being “late” overall.
She began by writing that she and her three-year-old son Jameson were showing symptoms of COVID-19 two weeks ago.
They were fortunate enough that their primary care physician had access to tests, so the 40-year-old singer tested positive. Her family and herself were already “sheltering” at home, so they continued to do so for the last two weeks, following the instructions of their doctor. They were re-tested a few days ago, and, thankfully, the tests came out negative.
Pink used the opportunity to criticize the U.S. government over the lack of tests for the COVID-19, and she wrote that it’s an absolute failure of the government to not make testing more widely accessible.
She also noted, though, that the illness is very serious and real, and it affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and the U.S. must make testing free and more widely accessible.
Pink also decided to donate $1 million to medical causes centered around COVID-19 with a dedication to her mother Judy Moore, who worked as an emergency room nurse.
