The 39-year-old rapper T.I. recently appeared on the Ladies Like Us podcast, and he stressed just how important it is for him that his teenage daughter Deyjah Harris has not been intimate yet. He admitted that he accompanies her on her annual gynecological checkup to confirm that her hymen is not broken, so he can ensure that she’s still a virgin.
The rapper, whose own lyrics are filled with lyrics about such stuff, said that he will say as of her 18th birthday that her hymen is still intact.
He said that Deyjah just graduated high school and she’s now attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. The rapper, who also has a three-year-old daughter named Heiress, added that not only they’ve had the conversation about intimate life with his 18-year-old daughter, but they have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.
Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham, the podcast hosts, thought that he was joking or exaggerating, but he went into more detail about their doctor visits.
He said that they go right after her birthday, and it’s a sort of celebration.
He said that she’s enjoying her gifts the day after the birthday party, and he puts a sticky note on her door: “Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30.”
Doctors, of course, can’t share patient information without the patient’s consent, so T.I. persuades his daughter into giving it.
“He’s like, “Well, you know sir, I have to, in order to share information” — I’m like, “Deyjah, they want you to sign this … so we can share information. Is there anything you would not want me to know?” “See doc? No problem.”‘
The doctor even explained to the rapper that there are many other ways for a hymen to break, and, in fact, many virgins no longer have hymens intact.
T.I., however, doesn’t care, and said that he tells the doctors that his daughter “doesn’t ride horses or bikes, and she plays no sports”.
T.I. defended his actions and explained that he thinks a lot of people wish their parents had been more protective of them, suggesting that his daughter will look back on his behavior and be grateful for it.
He went further, admitting that he doesn’t want guys to take the time to “woo” his daughter, even though she’s now an adult.
Even though the hosts of the podcast laughed hysterically throughout his story, they also called Deyjah a “prisoner”, and told the rapper that he was encouraging men to be “vultures”.
The rapper, though, is not nearly as worried about the intimate activities of his 15-year-old son King, who is already active in that field.
