Stay-At-Home Mom Sparks Debate After Admitting Waking Up At 4.30am To Make Breakfast For Her Husband

Brooke Smith is a mom-of-four children under the age of six, and she recently started off a furious debate on Facebook after sharing her extensive housework routine which puts her up until midnight.

The mom from Brisbane was accused of “living a 50s lifestyle” by some moms on a Facebook group named Mums Who Cook, Clean and Organise. Others, however, said that they were inspired by Smith. She wrote that she always makes sure that she doesn’t go to bed until everyone’s lunches are packed, their clothes are set out for the next day, including her husband’s clothes, and the house is clean.

This is what the mom posted in the group:

Even though this system works for Brooke and her family, though, many fellow moms were less than impressed by it, to say the least, and they told the mom-of-four that she and her partner should share out the chores more equally. Many people suggested that the marriage should be an equal partnership, so therefore, the two partners should share the load.

Brooke was quick to respond to the comments, though, and it said that it works for them, which matters the most.

She has since explained to Courier-Mail that there’s always a mix of negative and positive feedback on anything one posts on Facebook, and even though she’s well aware that many women assume that “she’s living a 50’s lifestyle”, she thinks this is the least she can do for someone that works hard in the sun all day and after hours.
To add to that, she just finds that they’re all happier as a family when they take on their traditional roles, and at the end of the day, that’s what matters the most, right?
