Even though we often say that mom’s love about her children is incomparable to anything else in this world, dads often carry much of the weight on their shoulders as well, and they’re the “superman in disguise”.
Abdullah Mohammed is a Syrian man and the dad of a 4-year-old girl. In order to protect his daughter from the nightmares that war brings, he invented a game. Whenever he and his daughter Selva hear an explosion nearby, they laugh as hard as they can. The brief moment of happiness fills up the room, and the dad “silences the explosions” and lets the reality stay out of the door.
The heartbreaking video of the dad-and-daughter’s game was shared on Twitter by Ali Mustafa, a long-time Syrian conflict reporter, and it touched the hearts of thousands of people.
what a sad world,
To distract 4-year old Selva, her father Abdullah has made up a game.
Each time a bomb drops in Idlib #Syria, they laugh, so she doesn’t get scared.

Many reports say that local children are actually the most traumatized of the people affected by the Syrian conflict. According to Mustafa, Syrian children are the most traumatized ones of any conflict because they’ve suffered displacement and have witnessed things on a scale only a few people can even imagine.
