A school teacher at Bachilleres 01 El Sabinal School in the central Mexican state of Tlaxcala is in hot water after making students take part in an exam with cardboard boxes on their heads to stop them from cheating.
Local media reports that parents are now outraged at the teacher for the unusual exam conditions and have since demanded his dismissal from the school.
According to reports, Ethics and Values teacher Luis Juarez Texis made the class wear cardboard boxes on their heads to stop them copying during the exam.
The parents said that the teacher treats the class badly and he has humiliated the students, and they asked the authorities to “protect the rights of the students”.
They also noted that this kind of mistreatment should not be tolerated, and they asked for the teacher to be dismissed.
The school explained in response to the backlash that it was a “dynamic exercise” to “help the students’ psychomotor development”.
