We all know that getting rejected from a job you were interviewing for is never fun, but most companies at least keep it classy and let you know in a respectful manner. Well, most companies, but not all of them.
This is Megan Dixon, an 18-year-old from Leicester, U.K.
Megan went for a job interview at a restaurant called “Miller and Carter”, but she received a horrible rejection message almost immediately afterward. The message was sent by Shantel Wesson, the branch’s assistant manager.
Yes, she actually said that! Dixon followed up:
Dixon’s tweet went viral very quickly, and people stood on Dixon’s side.
A spokesperson for ‘Miller and Carter’ stated:
“We can’t apologize enough to Megan. “It was never our intention to be disrespectful or upset her in any way. The texts were sent in error and were intended for our manager, not the candidate.”
OK, even if their intention wasn’t to be disrespectful, it was. So, the intention really doesn’t matter in this case, does it?
Also, if that’s how they talk about possible staff among themselves, maybe Dixon’s better off somewhere else.
Seems like she dodged a real bullet here!
