Although making a character in a book might seem interesting, it’s most definitely not an easy task. Writers might have the skill to do it, but creating a character is not just about having writing skills, but you actually have to know who you’re writing about. You have to do a proper research, and that’s the hardest part.
Unfortunately, many male writers seem to have this problem, especially when writing female characters. I don’t understand why they choose to go on their own and not consult a female friend for advice when writing a female character, but they get female characters very, very wrong way too often.
The Twitter page ‘Men Write Women’ shared examples of some of the most cringe-worthy female characters written by male authors. As it turns out, male authors often have no idea about women and their anatomy, and the page shares some of the worst examples out there. Check out some of our picks for yourself below, and feel free to share your own examples if you’ve come across any in the comment section.
