The Woman Behind Netflix’s “Unbelievable” Thanks The Show For Closure

The new Netflix drama series Unbelievable is one of the must-watch shows for this year, as it tells the story of an 18-year-old woman who survived being assault in her own home, only to be charged for making a false claim after police and her relatives doubted her version of events.

The show provides insight into the injustice of the US judicial system and it serves as an exploration on this topic. It also shows how the blame is very often placed on the victim, rather than the perpetrator.

Viewers around the world have since praised the show, including Marie, the woman, herself.

Kevin Armstrong, who co-wrote the article which the Netflix series is based on, shared how Marie reacted to the show.

Kevin explained that Marie was grateful to Kaitlyn Dever, the actress who portrayed her in the show.
The show has had a very positive impact since it dropped on Netflix on 13 September, and this is just another piece of evidence to show that.
Also, a shoutout to Toni Collette and Merritt Wever, who play detectives Grace Rasmussen and Karen Duvall, who Marie described as her “guardian angels” who brought justice to this horrible case.
