The 80-year-old mega-star Tina Turner has emerged from retirement for an unexpected comeback collaboration with DJ and producer Kygo. The track is called What’s Love Got To Do With It, and it’s coming out on Friday, 17 July! If you’re anything like me, you’ve already set the alarm for Friday!
The news came after Kygo tweeted that he’s releasing a collab with Tina Turner this Friday, and it took the world by storm.
Can’t believe I’m releasing a collab with @LoveTinaTurner this Friday! ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ is one of my all time favorite songs, and it feels surreal to get the opportunity to work with such a legendary artist! Can’t wait for you all to hear it🎶 pic.twitter.com/q4kroHm1H9

The original track was released back in 1984, and even though the singing legend admitted that she was happily retired from the music industry last year, she collaborated with the 28-year-old Norwegian producer on the remix. Needless to say, she looks absolutely stunning on the cover photo!
Tina Turner’s 1984 hit remains her first and only solo song to reach the number one on the Hot 100 in the U.S., and the song won three Grammys that year, for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
