Actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have both tested positive for the Covid-19 virus while in Australia. The actor made the announcement himself on social media.
Hanks wrote that he and Rita are in Australia, and they felt a bit tired, like they had colds, and some body aches. Rita also had some chills that came and went, and slight fevers. To play things right, they were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive. He added that medical officials have protocols that must be followed, and Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. He noted that they’ll keep the world posted and updated.
Tom Hanks has been filming Buz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic on the Gold Coast, and a spokesperson for the studio has since said that they’ve been made aware that a company member from their feature film has tested positive for COVID-19, and they’re working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual.
Numerous social media posts have shown Mr. Hanks and his wife meeting a number of locals, but Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said that these people would have had to be in contact with the couple for more than 15 minutes to be infected.
