Toxic Masculinity And Mansplaining Through Classical Art Memes That Will Crack You Up

Nicole Tersigni is a comedy writer that manages to put together the best of both worlds: she pairs classical art with modern-day captions. Her photos expose the deep roots of mansplaining, and she calls it ‘Men to Avoid in Art and Life’. Her memes are absolutely hilarious, and she told Bored Panda that she was inspired to do the series as she was fed up with the way men regularly explain her own jokes to her. She decided to make a quick joke about it, and it took off. It eventually turned into a whole thread with similar classic paintings and modern captions, and people really can’t get enough of them!

Tersigni was asked by literary agent Rachel Sussman if she was interested in making it into a book – and she was!
The book went on sale a few months ago, and it sold out in the first 48 hours!

You can check some of the funniest (and most relatable) memes created by Tersigni below, and make sure to follow her on Instagram!
