Trans Model Teddy Quinlivan Makes History By Becoming The Face Of Chanel Beauty

Teddy Quinlivan is a trans model that’s on a mission to change the game. Quinlivan starred in MILK Make-Up’s Kush mascara campaign, and shocked the world with her red hair in the Redken’s Color Gel Lacquers promo photoshoot. She’s become one of the world’s most famous models that champions inclusivity in every step of her way.
Her latest move, however, is noteworthy. She starred as the new face of Chanel Beauty campaign. Her photos of the fashion house’s ‘Summer Look’ are amazing, and the photo series makes a huge step towards inclusivity in luxury brands. The reason for this is because she’s the first openly trans model to work for Chanel!

Quinlivan celebrated the huge achievement by posting on Instagram. This is what she wrote:

‘I find I don’t cry anymore when things are sad, but isn’t it interesting when we shed tears in moments of triumph. This was one of those triumphant cry moments for me. My whole life has been a fight.’

Quinlivan came out as trans back in 2017, and she’s been making a regular presence at Fashion Weeks ever since. She has walked for numerous brands, including Louis Vuitton’s 2018 campaign. She’s been on the cover of numerous prestigious magazines, and she even hosted her own TED Talk.

We can only hope that this is just the beginning of major brands taking the step to prioritize representation.
