Living in 2020, one wouldn’t believe that sexism, homophobia, transphobia, racism, etc. would still be prevalent in society. I mean, this is the 21st century, and these practices do not belong in this day and age.
Sadly, though, many people continue to push their prejudiced beliefs on others, and it often happens to be that they’re the loudest ones of all.
One mom was absolutely done with her ultra-religious in-laws constantly discriminating against her trans daughter, and she took matters into her own hands.
Taking it to the mega-popular ‘Am I The A-hole’ sub-Reddit, user AuntieSurprisePants shared the story of how she refused to pretend that her trans daughter does not exist in front of her family.
She shared that she and her husband have two children, and their 24-year-old came out as a woman a few months ago. Even though the parents were surprised, their support never wavered off. The problem, though, her husband’s ultra-religious family members who use religion to hide behind their classist, racist, and homophobic viewpoints.
The OP couldn’t tolerate them anymore, so she confronted them and said that they are not allowed to come to her home anymore. Check out the post below, and decide if she’s in the wrong for yourself:
Well, it’s safe to say that almost all of the voters voted that she’s 100 percent NOT the a-hole here. The only problem, in my eyes, are the poor children stuck in that ultra-religious family.
