Woman Asks Husband To Pay Her $50k For Caring For Their Baby, Sparks a Debate

Parenting is expensive, and unfortunately there’s no way around it. Regardless of the country you live in, being a parent is not cheap. Also, it comes natural that you only want the best for your child – and that only adds up to the costs.

To add to that, companies work their hardest to convince you that their child-related products are the best and you absolutely need them (which is often not the case), but that’s for another day.

However, the reality is that even the basic baby necessities cost money, and different children require different levels of care (or additional care). So, if you don’t have a health insurance to cover some of the expenses, you’re in trouble. However, is it reasonable to your partner for money compensation to have children?

Well, that’s exactly what happened to Redditor @husbandmaybefather (obviously a throwaway account). They recently shared a post in which they asked for advice on how to handle a situation with his wife, who demands she gets compensated $50,000 for having a child.

It appears that his wife’s demand stems from the fact that the two of them share everything in their relationship 50/50: from the cost of their wedding to their honeymoon to their mortgage payments, which are apparently paid off. They both also earn $175,000 after taxes each year, which is in many instances, more than enough to comfortably raise a child and start a family – there are people out there who do so with a lot less. The couple also has separate banking accounts.

So, what do you think? Is her demand reasonable?

Many people on Twitter agreed with her, saying that her demands are completely reasonable, and she has a valid point.
