Woman In Labor Walks To Hospital Because She Can’t Afford $2,000 For An Ambulance Ride

The US healthcare system – what a concept! We’ve heard numerous horror stories about our healthcare system, but the most recent one comes from a pregnant woman who chose to walk to the hospital while in labor so she wouldn’t have to pay $2,000 for calling an ambulance.

The video of the woman walking to the hospital was shared on TikTok, where it was watched more than 7.4 million times and gathered 1.5 million likes.
The video was filmed by her partner, and shows her walking to the hospital at night.

Check it out for yourself below:

As it turns out, their car broke down after her partner Andrew forgot to fill gas, but the couple shared the story because something as simple as calling an ambulance costs so much in America.
Many European countries don’t charge anything for calling an ambulance, and the woman included the hashtags #america, #healthcaresystem, and #istrash in the post.

Thankfully, the couple made it to the hospital safely and the woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
Even though some users blamed Andrew for not filling gas in the car, the main problem here is the American healthcare system.
